ABOUT US

Roots of Conucos is a nonprofit organization founded in Southwest California in 2024 to cultivate sustainable farming practices and foster meaningful community connections. Inspired by the Taíno people—the indigenous group of the Caribbean who were the most numerous in the region during the 15th century—we honor their legacy by embracing and teaching the traditional “Conuco” agriculture practices.

“Conuco” represents more than just agriculture; it symbolizes community, sustainability, and resilience. At Roots of Conucos, we carry this tradition forward by empowering veterans and aspiring farmers through hands-on training, mentorship, and unwavering support.

Built on deep Caribbean roots and the vision of proud United States Marine Veterans, we are more than a nonprofit—we’re a movement. We are planting the seeds for a greener, stronger future while blending passion, purpose, and culture to create lasting impact.
